More about this scene
Known affectionately as 'The Pepperpot', Godalming's attractive market house of 1814 stands at the junction of three streets in central Godalming. From early Victorian times onwards the arcaded ground floor was bricked up and used as lumber room and public convenience, as this photograph shows. The arcade was reopened in 1955.
