The houses shown here are part of the tiny village of Timbersbrook. The chimney belongs to the Silver Springs Dye works, established here because of the purity of the water. The works are hidden in a little valley. There is now no trace of them, the site being occupied by a car park and picnic tables. Only the mill pond across the road remains.
