Here in the right foreground we see the Tolsey building raised on columns, with its broad clock projecting from the gable. In past times, the Tolsey was the centre of local administration, and taxes were paid here. Adding to the charm of this peaceful scene is the avenue of pollarded limes on the verges higher up the hill.
