More about this scene
This looks Southwards along South Street to St Mary`s parish church (centre). The east side begins with the projecting porch of the 16th-century building known as the Old Castle (far left), which is now Bridport Museum. Northover`s Cheap Hardware Stores is the three-storey building. On the west side, between the figures and the church tower, is the establishment of draper and milliner Ernest Benjamin Hobbs. The office and works of Aldis Printers are to the right of those standing on the pavement.
