We moved to Sutton in 1956/7, Sutton Court Road, and I attended Sutton East before moving to Worcester Road and then going to Ambleside School in Cheam, then onto the Willows before completing my A-levels at Nonsuch High School for Girls in Cheam. I didn't know this site existed. I am delighted that it does. I was at this school until it closed when I moved to Wallington Independent High School. I was one of the naughty boys, but turned out all right in the end and had a great working life. Now retired I have an action packed time with masses of fun. If this is Throwley Way parallel to Sutton Hugh Street, then the now defunct Sutton High School for Boys used these erstwhile Baths for swimming lessons and competitions, right up to the school's controversial closure in 1962.
I was a projectionist at the "CURZON" cinema in Cheam Road form 1962 - 1986 and would always go to the Regent for lunch..Was always a good meal and you could get 3 courses for around 2/6d.. Served by two lovely waitresses Eve & Day..who incidentally came to my 21st Birthday party!
