York, Minster 1897

More about this scene
There has been very little change to the appearance of this magnificent structure owing to careful restoration and repair, but the surroundings of the Minster have altered. On the grass to the left a statue of Constantine the Great, the Roman Emperor in 306, has been erected, and the roads are now much closer and almost surround the building.
