Wroxham, The Bridge c.1950

More about this scene
The bridge joining Wroxham to the west and Hoveton to the east was declared unsafe in the 1960s. A 'temporary' bridge was superimposed on the old stone structure, pending the building of a town bypass, which still has to be constructed. This photograph shows one of the last trading wherries with its high mast, which had to be lowered to pass under bridges.
