More about this scene
This tranquil view, taken from the west bank of the Severn, includes not only the cathedral but also All Saints' Church and St Andrew's. The photographer is standing on the edge of Chapter Meadows, which are still cut for hay every July, then grazed by cattle through late summer and autumn, as they have been since Roman times.
