More about this scene
Thomas Hardy used the Manor at Wool as the setting for the disastrous honeymoon of Tess and Angel Clare in his novel 'Tess of the D'Urbervilles'. This was a most appropriate choice of location, for Wool Manor was once a seat of the real-life Turberville family. This beautiful bridge spans the River Frome.
