Willaston, The Green c.1950

More about this scene
The Green has always been a focus for village life, and has several fine old buildings surrounding it. The posts have now gone, but there is still a bench; and the copper beech tree, just visible on the left, is now a fine, mature specimen that shades much of the Green. The building with the two cars parked outside is The Nag's Head (formerly The White Lion), which dates from the first part of the 1700s.
