Flat-capped fishermen enjoy a chat and a view of the Lower Harbour by the swing bridge (right) in the ancient port of Whitby, situated where the River Esk runs into the North Sea. Across the harbour on the left are The Buck, The Jolly Sailors and The Ship public houses, and running out to the right is the West Pier.
