Church Road Garage
A Memory of Westbury on Trym.
I have fond memories of Westbury when my Dad and uncle had their garage, Reynolds Bros in Westbury, they started in Waters Lane from 1946 to 1952. When the lease ran out, they then found premises in Church Road and had a new Garage built, times were hard while it was being built. My mum used to tell me she had motor engines on the dining room table. They moved to the garage in 1952. Gilbert and Les [my dad] were there until they retired in 1982 when they sold the garage. It continued to trade as a garage with the new owner. They are featured in the book SHOES AND SHIPS AND SEALING WAX, shops and shopkeepers of Westbury-on- Trym by Beryl Tully. I still shop in Westbury on Trym and have many good memories.
