Christmas Deliveries: If you placed an order on or before midday on Wednesday 18th December for Christmas delivery it was despatched before the Royal Mail or Parcel Force deadline and therefore should be received in time for Christmas. Orders placed after midday on Wednesday 18th December will be delivered in the New Year.

Please Note: Our offices and factory are now closed until Thursday 2nd January when we will be pleased to deal with any queries that have arisen during the holiday period.

My wife and I had a new house built in Ferndale just off the Hulbert Road in 1959. Detached semi bungalow with three bedrooms and a garden backing on to Inhurst Woods and all for £3500. My goodness, how different for the younger generation today. I only needed £175 deposit for the mortgage. The building with a clock tower on the right was the old Baptist church. It was knocked down in the early 1960s in order to widen the road (which was of course the main Portsmouth to London road in those days) and was replaced by the modern baptist church about half a mile further north along London Road (between Avondale Road and Billet Ave).
