Warrington, The New Roundabout c.1960

More about this scene
The view from the roundabout has changed dramatically since 1960. The Academy building (far left) was sliced from its foundations and moved to the empty plot where the Tower Restaurant stood. After this feat of engineering in May 1981, the Academy was demolished and rebuilt! The single-storey public conveniences (far right) vanished with the building of the second river crossing.
