My Fond Memories Of Warnham Court School

A Memory of Warnham Court School.

Hello, my name is Christine Parsons but I was known by my maiden name of Morley when I attended Warnham, it seems like only yesterday I was there. I was sent there seemingly by the Greater London Council as both my parents were sick and at that time found it difficult to care for me, although all turned out well after I left school. What a wonderful place it was and Mr and Mrs Savage, the headmaster and his wife, were great people. I remember them with great fondness. When I first arrived at the school I remember being extremely frightened and missed home terribly. I remember a boy named Brian coming over to talk to me then a Michael Long. Michael and I ended up having a bit of a crush on each other. Maureen Lehey comes to mind, Caroline and I'm sure Yusef had just started as I was leaving. I left in 1961. I remember the trips on the rocketty old bus to Horsham and the cinema outings to Bognor and Eastbourne are among my ten-fold memories of my time there, also the dances, pantomines, Nelly the pig and my times cleaning out her sump, she was a fab girl, I loved her, the peacocks, deer and llamas, getting up and ready for church on Sunday, oh, I could go on and on. I don't know if there is anyone out there who has any memory of me, but what I do know is how privileged we all were and at what ever time ,to have been given the chance to be chosen to be a pupil there.
God bless, Christine 1956-1961.
