This view looks west with the Red House (left) in front of and next to Lorne House and West Deyne, the school boarding houses. Cliff's on the right seems to be privately occupied, once it was a butcher's. Note the TV aerial behind, promoted no doubt by the coronation of 1953 when many people bought or rented sets. Booth's shop, beyond the signpost, marks the beginning of Stockerston Road.
