More about this scene
The most conspicuous feature here is the 15th-century font cover (right). The pulpit, with its sounding-board and slender oak stem (centre right), dates from the 1680s. The church is notable for its sense of spaciousness: the old box-pews were done away with in 1877 and replaced with chairs. A huge iron chandelier now hangs from the central arch.
