More about this scene
The View North from the Town Hall This view, taken from the Town Hall, shows the layout of Regent Circus leading to Regent Street in the 1950s. The classical portico of the Baptist Tabernacle on the left was enhanced by the flight of stone steps which ran the entire width of the frontage. To the right, small shops including Avonweir, a greengrocer, and Bell Bros, footwear, are to be seen lining the street.
