More about this scene
This a row of typical seaside hotels and boarding houses, and it still looks the same. The only big difference is that the cast iron and glass canopy along the mock-Tudor hotel has all been taken away, and there is now only one shop - and it is not Gallone the Italian ice cream seller, as it is here. The three young ladies, all nicely in step, are still wearing their coats, so it cannot be all that warm. The poster on the right advertises Arcadian Follies at the Pier Pavilion; the pier mainly disappeared in 1978.
