More about this scene
Today Pride Hill is a pedestrianised area. The buildings on the right are much the same, although Woolworth's has been removed to make way for the entrance to a multi-storey shopping centre called the Darwin Centre. It is named for Charles Darwin, who was born in Shrewsbury in 1809.
