I Went To School Here

A Memory of Shifnal.

I went to school at Haughton Hall around the time I was 8 or 9. It was for a few years because our school had been burnt down in Madeley, St Marys .. what a spooky cold gloomy place! If ever I went to a haunted building this was it, I loved the place and got up to complete mischief with my mate Jolene - pure fun. I'm glad its a hotel now, at least it didnt go to waste, but what a grand old house. And I do wish I could turn the clock back now and go back and have another look at the house inside, untouched as it was then ....I really did not appreciate how lucky I was.

i too went to haughton hall school in the late 1980s untill it closed in 1990, i agree it was certainly haunted,as i saw a ghost in my dormitory, which was bedroom 8, the ghost was of a woman dressed in georgian costume, and sher had red eyes and her hair was in a bun,ive never been able to find out who the ghost is.
I went there myself back in the 1980s would be great to catch up with a few friends
Would be great to have a reunion
I too was at this school , infact I was the first pupil to arrive when it opened in the 80s at age of 14 and first one to leave at age of 16 - Mr Barrett was the head master and a wasnt a nice person with his punishments Etc , school was very creepy and many a spirit present - I too had seen the red haired lady, an old man and a child , also I the woods the horse gravestone which was spooky, we used to play in the cellars which was spooky too. Dorms and bedrooms. Personally I hated being there and always in trouble n punished haha made to stand outside I the cold in PJs for 30 min in middle of night :/ wasnt a nice experience - was so happy the day I left!!
Sadly a lot of abuse went on there (was a boys boarding school) - I received physical abuse (slaps, punches) others sexual - the best news in my life was to hear it got closed down now a spa!
Reunion. ? Errrr No thanks lol
