Holidaymakers and day trippers have been drawn to the sandy beach at the mouth of the Seaton valley. Facilities on the far side include Pearce's Café and the Eddystone Hotel, while tents and caravans of the period can be seen in the valley floor on the left. Downderry village is alongside the coast road in the distance.

I remember moving to Seaton with my family from london it was such a wonderful place, my best friend was Edward Waite,we spent many happy times together,on the beach,at the cafe also,in the winter Kathy Doney would open on sunday afternoons so that we could play the juke box. It was nice to read of some familiar names that lived in Seaton at the same time as me, Jon Sandy for one. I often think of Jane Sandy and where she is now.

1943! The year I was born, where I lived and was brought up at my grandparents' shop,
'S W Pearce & Son'. I went to school in Downderry and Antony, then later Liskeard Grammer. On leaving school, I worked in the family business, followed by 30 years in Plymouth.
