More about this scene
A magician entertains a crowd of well dressed Victorian holidaymakers on the beach. The town has been popular for centuries; as a spa town it was known as 'the Queen of watering places', and it has always been a healthy, bracing and fashionable resort. The town has a mixture of architecture, with the ruins of a 12th-century barbican and keep, and Regency and Victorian buildings.
