More about this scene

The old village custom of placing the pub next to the church is not overlooked in Oxton. St Saviour's also supports a church-aided primary school, and both are a power in the community. And while the architecture of the Castle does not exactly gel with that of the church, both buildings attract their fair share of visitors at the appropriate times.

School Place Birkenhead
Does anyone remember School Place, Birkenhead? It was in Watson Street. Also does anyone remember the prefabs at the top of Garnet Street opposite Oak and Eldon Gardens?

My Local
The pub had only recently been rebuilt, the original haveing been flattened by an aerial mine in 1941, which also damaged St Saviour's, parts of which were still awiting repair. Until the rebuild it was an bomb site and used to play there. The property behind the photographer was also hit and had been demolished. New properties were built in the 1950s (5, 7, 9 Bidston Road). However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
