The old village custom of placing the pub next to the church is not overlooked in Oxton. St Saviour's also supports a church-aided primary school, and both are a power in the community. And while the architecture of the Castle does not exactly gel with that of the church, both buildings attract their fair share of visitors at the appropriate times.
