Oxford, St Aldates c.1950

More about this scene
St Aldates is one of Oxford's most famous thoroughfares. Christ Church, otherwise known as 'The House', can be seen on the right, with Wren's splendid Tom Tower rising above it. Note the old bus stop sign on the right, and how quiet the street seems compared with today's heavy traffic.
