More about this scene
North-east of Northampton, Overstone is a linear village dating back to the 18th century. The original village was in front of the manor house: such was the power and influence of the local landowner in those days, that the settlement was demolished and rebuilt outside the park boundary. The public road was also closed and the grounds landscaped.
