Link House

A Memory of North Seaton.

I was born at Link House at the bottom end of The Drift in 1948. Me dad was Bob Henderson and me Mam was Jessie. My Grannie and Grandpa Keen lived at The Drift and then moved to Hadstone, where we moved to in the 60s. Most of me relatives are Keens; Peter, Alec and Melvin. Then there was my uncle Sep Shanks and his wife my aunt Dot....boy they could throw a party, in fact I got my first kiss at one of them by a nice looking lad with the last name of Stephenson. Great memories, a great place to grow up and if anyone knows Jack Gilholme say 'hi' for me. My uncle, Jim Keen, was the milkman for the area and I remember we got bottles of orange juice on Sundays - what a treat. I live in the States now but return every two years or so.....my roots will always be with the north.
