Nellie Briscoe

A Memory of Newby Bridge.

Can I ask if anyone remembers my mom's great aunt, Nellie Briscoe? She lived in a caravan in the 1950s-1960s, just by the bridge, Newby Bridge. She had two dogs, Carne Terriers, If anyone can remember her, would they get in touch, Garry.

Hello Garry. It is a long time since your post but I have just spotted it. I do remember your Aunt and the Caravan. It was based at Mill Farm. I was brought up at the Mill during which time your Aunt was resident in the caravan. I remember on one occasion being in the caravan and she was sat by the window doing some tatting - I was intrigued at the time with the bobbins and technique. I never quite knew how that came to be her home but she lived in the caravan during the brutal winter of 62/63.
