A Memory of Mitcham.

My name is Bill Dedman i was born in Mitcham 23 Bath Road Known has Redskin Village All so Rocky I went to Lower Mitcham School and Western Road School i still live in Mitcham my first memories are the bombing and the Doodle bugs, the first film i remember seeing at the Majestic Cinema was the Wizard Of Oz , we used to go the Saturday morning pictures at the Odeon Morden one of our favourite places was going to Leo's ice cream parlour Cricket Green also Bills Cafe' in Love lane near the Church

My grandad frank and my great grandma lived at Rocky vertinia Lee James my grandad died 1963 in he’s 70s my grandad lived in mr gales back garden in a caravan about 1955 he had a brother Henry James he was a knife grinder and kained chairs anyone remember the family most of the older generation have died . He went by the name of frank Farrell when he died there wasn’t a birth paper in that name so we think he’s name was James but many family’s changed there names my Dad lived in mitcham for many years he had a horse and trolly my great gran lived in swains yard near love lane in the 1900s for a while
As a child I remember Verty
She had two daughters Alice and Vimmy
Her son was Jonny?
She had Monkey that she used to push about in a pram
As a child when we lived in Rocky.
I remember Verty and her 2 daughters, Vimmy and Alice

She used to have a monkey that she pushed about in a pram. Lovely times.
