More about this scene
The main road turns past the imposing church, whose churchyard is entered by two 17th-century gateways. To the left are the arched and mullioned windows of the 1661 Almshouses; partly hidden is Ashlar House, which is mid 18th- century and set at the corner of Pound Lane, which leads to the moated Manor House. The medieval Treasurer's House, owned by the National Trust, is just out of view to the right, beside the creeper-clad house.
