Lowestoft, The Bridge And The Harbour c.1925

More about this scene
It is always a sight worth watching, as the bridge swings open to allow the passage of a paddle steamer. Note the tramlines visible on the roadway of the bridge. This view of the harbour and its buildings has changed little in the last 80 years, but a new lifting bridge, with a 3-lane highway and 2 pedestrian walkways, has replaced this old swing bridge.
