More about this scene
Fleet Street had been 'the street of ink' ever since Caxton's assistant Wynkyn de Worde set up his press next to St Bride's Church in 1500. Above the turning to the church we can see the office of the Western Daily Mercury. On the far right is the second-floor Northern Daily Telegraph office.
