Umberslade Baptist Church, Hockley Heath, Warwickshire, England

A Memory of Ledbury.

During the late 1880's my great grand father Thomas Sampson Lancaster farmed and raised his family of ten children in Hockley Heath, and Umberslade Church was their local place of worship. There are now many grave-sites of the Lancaster Family in the Church Yard. My family moved to the south coast after WW2, and moved around several times - however, the Umberslade Church so held my parents loyalty and interest that they wanted their ashes scattered around this site in 1988 - it was probably the only place that they really felt to which they had an ancestral connection.
