More about this scene
Abbey Fields is dissected by Finham Brook and Inchford Brook. The canons developed a series of pools along Finham Brook to provide water power for their mills, as well as fish and fowl for food. Today, only Abbey Pool survives, but this popular swimming pool, which opened in 1896, also perpetuates the watery theme.
