Further east, Franklins Outfitters, a mid 19th-century Italianate building on the right has gone, as have those in the distance on the left, to be replaced by the tepid Neo-Georgian Talbot Court. The 180-foot spire of All Saints' can be seen beyond, but the most remarkable feature of the church is the north porch: this seems to be a re-used castle gatehouse, perhaps from Moulton Castle, five miles to the west.

I've lived in Holbeach all my life and mum and dad owned a grocers shop in the High Stree,t it was called Ritchies. I remember sitting on the steps out side the shop with my sister writing down all the car numbers, we saw we spent many hours out there. I also have wonderful memories of going to the pictures with my best friend Ena Pack on a Saturday afternoon, we are still the closest friends happy days.

General Store And Cafe

My mam and dad, Linda and Harry Leggett ran the general store and cafe next to the bus stop for a few years from 1960. I had the music shop in Chapel Street, Holbeach Music Supplies from 1959 until 1967ish. Loved it. If there was a magic wand I would turn the clock back. I live in Cornwall now but I come back to visit regularly. Jan

Cookery Days
As Christmas 2012 approaches, once more I have baked my family Christmas cake using the same recipe, from the same book, all those memorable years ago. Attending Holbeach Bank School at that time, just pre George Farmer, we girls would bus into Holbeach each week to be taught how to cook a variety of food. Holbeach Marsh
We moved to Holbeach Marsh in 1952. I came from a large family of six boys and five girls. My father and two of my elder brothers worked for Mr Caldwell, on his farm. I went to Holbeach St Mathews school from 1952 until 1955 with my twin sisters Edith and Mary, and the youngest of the family George. Genealogy & Research Images

Despite over 20 years’ work on the archive, these scans have still not been individually checked and may prove to be damaged, faded, or not of sufficient quality to ever be offered in our full product range. However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
