Kathleens Hospital Stay
A Memory of Heswall.
I was in Holbrook Gaskell ward twice about 1956 &1958 I had rheumatic fever. I thought I would never go home, it seemed such a long way from Liverpool and my mum could only visit once a week and I could only see my sister through the railings. I did get to know some nice people there. I remember a teacher who used to come in each day - I think her name was Miss Jaimerson, she used to bring dolls for us to play with. As I got better we where allowed to go for walks in the grounds. I do remember a girl called Maureen Topping who came from Liverpool and a girl called Lesley Childs, I think she was from Blackpool.
