Pinchaford Farm 1954
A Memory of Haytor Vale.
The person who remembered going to Pinchaford Farm in 1973 was there 20 years after the Lamb family's first visit to the Haytor area. This B&B guest house was owned by a single lady who had two daughters Panda and Pom and who would be in their eighties now if alive since I am all but 73. My father and mother and my brother John went for a fortnight's holiday from our then home in Yorkshire, with the principal reason being for riding. The accommodation was not quite as my father had hoped when he had come upon an advertisement probably in The Daily Telegraph. During this holiday we discvered the Moorlands Hotel, at that time a Trust House manged by Mr and Mrs True. Our famiy returned to the Dartmoor area and the `Moorlnds Hotel annually for the next ten or so years. My parents visited the Rock Inn for scrumpie possibly?
I own a painting of Pinchaford `farm done by Panda and Pom's mother.
