More about this scene
Timber gables and full-height faceted bay windows create an imposing range of shops and flats of the early 20th century. It is unfortunate that the impact of the design has been diluted by the use of oversized shop fascias, especially to Bennetts. The neo-Georgian North Thames Gas Board showroom is a bland intrusion.
