A Selection of Memories from Grosmont

For many years now, we've been inviting visitors to our website to add their own memories to share their experiences of life as it was, prompted by the photographs in our archive. Here are some from Grosmont

Sparked a Memory for you?

If this has sparked a memory, why not share it here?

My memories of Wallasey go back to 1945. I went to St George's road school. Mr Sykes was the headmaster. I remember Barry West Valerie Windsor Jennifer Dean and many more. Miss Merrick was our last class teacher. My parents had the cycle shop in Wallasey. Village. Longworhs. Does anyone have any other memories?
I remember sitting having lunch on the bank of canal seeing those charming barges slowly drifting past and making me feel that I would love to be on board going somewhere, anywhere at all just taking in the day in the warm sun, and walking over to the barge inn for a nice cool drink !!
My brother Rick and I were here approx 1959 to 1962/3 want to know more, can anyone help please
Does anyone know anything about the mounts area. My grandparents lived in earl street next door to the morning star pub , of which I can find no information. Opposite them was a Chinese laundry called sunlight. I remember collecting their Chrisp white sheets wrapped in brown paper. I attended St Mary's school on the mounts and loved getting the sweets and toffee apples from a quaint little shop on the mounts. Would love to hear from anyone who remembers these places.
