More about this scene
Dunmow's Market Place is otherwise known as Rood End. The Town Hall, in its original form, was built in 1578. Dunmow ceased to be a borough in 1885, and the building has since housed various commercial enterprises. The Saracen's Head, across the road, allegedly once had a part-time highwayman for a landlord.
