More about this scene
The Priory dates from AD 900. It was founded by Aethelflaed, daughter of Alfred the Great, to house the remains of St Oswald, and it is located in the area now known as Kingsholm. The cathedral looks like a warden keeping an eye over the original free chapel royal.
