More about this scene
Ellesmere House is beautifully sited just above the main road and overlooking the Mere. The building is now used as a residential home. Between the house and the lake we can just see part of the Cremorne Gardens, on the west bank of the mere, which were presented to the townspeople by Lord Brownlow as recently as 1953.
