More about this scene
Overlooking the corner of Manchester Road and Deardengate in the centre of Haslingden, and readily identified by the large clock projecting into the street, is the Commercial Hotel. In 1907, Emily Pankhurst addressed a crowd from one of its upper windows, rallying support in her crusade to achieve suffrage for women.
