Croydon Surrey Street A E Pearce

A Memory of Croydon.

I have very fond memories of Croydon, especially Reeves Corner which has now been destroyed. I was born on Fairholme Road in 1974, but moved to Wallington when I was three. But we shopped in Croydon most Saturdays, catching the 157 or the 154 to the bus garage. I was wondering if anyone knew what business A.E Pearce on Surrey Street, next to Ye old dog and Bull, was?
I also used to work in the NLA tower next to East Croydon station and had many a Costa Coffee there. In addition, I worked just down the road. My nan used to work in the pub that became the Blue Orchid. Lots and lots of memories I could write about. Definately want to know what A. E Pearce business was. If anyone knows, please reply.Thank you, Lainy.
I moved away from Croydon 6 years ago now and do miss the hussle and bussle o

A E Pearce was a grocers that specialised in bacon, eggs and cheese. It had a stall outside the shop that sold mostly eggs. I worked there as a schoolboy from 1973 to 1978.

The shop was owned by Mrs Doreen Harcourt
I remember Reeves and the shop so well . I knew Danny Reeves and her cousin Shirley, not sure of her surname. It was through them I met my husband Brian. We now live in Berkshire and have two sons and 5 grandchildren I have so many happy memories of Croydon, eapecially the coffee bar opposite the Library and town hall. Does any one remember Danny, her husband Phil or Shirley. I wonder where they are now?
