Blundellsands

A Memory of Crosby.

I remember a home for unmarried mothers in blundellsands Crosby, I am hoping to find local people who may remember it, it was called Berkley house but also had a catholic name it wasn't far from the station off serpentine rd I think. I would love to know how people felt then about such a place and how it would be now. I think it had connections with a catholic church round the corner . Any memory would suffice. Thank you

I have just found this site so not sure how long this memory has been on here. I was in the home for unmarried mothers in 1963 as a baby with my unmarried biological mother before I was adopted. I think it had connections with the adoption society Brownlow Hill Liverpool as I was adopted through this society. It was called The Legion of Mary, Mater Dei Hostel, Berkley House, Serpentine South L 23. I would love for you to reply if you had any details on it or where about it was as I'm assuming it has been demolished now (2018)
It is still there I was close to it last week investigating the area the date is now 2019, August 2019. It was facing the house of a local who I was talking to about the area My Website Is Enchanted LifePath I am from the area you will find my work on it if you dig around https://enchantedlifepath.com/2017/02/20/911-code-babylon-second-city-empire-liverpool/
