Constantine, The Old Town c.1950

More about this scene
The old village of Constantine was home to the miners and quarrymen who worked the granite for which the parish was famous - small wonder that the walls of some of the cottages were solidly built. The signboard on the pavement near the women and children advertises a fish and chip shop.
