More about this scene
To the west of Compton Bishop, the former Crooks Peak Guest House is now a private house, almost invisible behind high beech hedges. Built about 1910, the guest house served walkers and holiday makers, and its name refers to the 625 foot peak behind the house. The guest house also gave splendid views south across the levels towards Exmoor.
