More about this scene

The widening of the A5 (Watling Street) removed a number of buildings of late mediaeval and later dates, particularly as it passed through Edgware. Colindale was hardly developed until it became associated with aircraft production during the First World War, and with nearby Hendon Aerodrome, which was developed by its then owner, the aircraft pioneer Claude Grahame-White. His hangar, which dates from 1915, is included in English Heritage's Register of Buildings at Risk in London.

I'm trying to find out the history of 'Bronllwyn', Tyn y Wern Villas, Trethomas, South Wales and what it was used for in the 1920's. My mother was born and brought up in Bedlinog, Glamorganshire, South Wales but it seems she spent some time in Bronllwyn around Christmas 1928. I know my mother suffered of ill health of some sort but I know very little of her childhood. I'm 82 now and would dearly like to know a little more about my mum. Margo Smith Smith6767@btinternet.com

Grandmother

Born Glasgow 1952, visited my granny at 249a Edgware Road on many occasions, she lived above Barclays bank.

Memories Of Colindale 1939 To 1965
I grew up in colindale during the war went to colindale school then onto Brent moden in west London worked at desouter brothers and schweppes before getting maried and moving to oxford 50 years ago by the way my name is Bob Thompson I lived in sheavshill house colin deep lane my e mail is robert01.thompson@live.co.uk

Memorys Of Colindale
My name is Bob Thompson I grew up in colindale I went to colindale school then I went up to Brent moden west Henson I started work at tilly lamps and then brothers on edgeware road I left London about 50 years ago have been living in oxfordshire ever since I am now 80 years old desouter brothers

However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
