More about this scene
The house is a typical Georgian square house with a fine ashlar frontage and hipped roof. The doorway is square-headed with Ionic pilasters and two detached Ionic columns. In front of the house, gardens and pleasure grounds ran down to the river; a channel was cut from the river for private moorings.
