More about this scene
Emmanuel College was originally the site of a Dominican friary. After the dissolution came a short period of disuse before Sir Walter Mildmay restored parts of the friary for use as a college. The chapel is another example of Wren's work; it shows Italian influences. One student at Emmanuel, John Harvard, emigrated to America, where the famous university in Massachusetts was named after him.
